Bring The Grind™ to Your Community
A free starter guide from Nieto Ministries — the nationwide hub for coffee-house-style youth & young-adult ministry.
What The Grind is
The Grind is a free, biweekly Friday-night coffee house for youth and young adults ages 16–22 — a safe, judgment-free "third place" with coffee, food, live music, a short honest message, games, and genuine community. It's youth-run and adult-supported. It exists to give young people something a screen never can: a place to belong, with purpose.
Why it works
- It's simple and repeatable — built around people, not programming.
- It lowers the walls (coffee + music) so relationships and a short message can do the real work.
- It's safe by design — screened adults, the two-adult rule, and clear standards come first.
What it takes to start one
- A room — a church hall, community space, or donated storefront.
- A few caring adults — willing to show up consistently and keep it safe.
- A standing invitation — same night, every other week, so young people can count on it.
